We’ve made our decision! I am incredibly happy and proud to announce that this year I will be racing for the German team SORG RENNSPORT! Together, we will compete in the NLS Championship on the Nordschleife + GP circuit with the BMW 330i. These are ten endurance races, lasting 4 and 6 hours each. I will be doing this alongside two other teammates: Piet-Jan Ooms en Marius Rauer.

The NLS-championship is highly regarded and a true racing spectacle. The circuit is known as the most beautiful and demanding track in the world. Its uniqueness is reflected in the words of three-time Formula 1 champion Jackie Stewart:

"I called the track the 'Green Hell' back then. I think there was no pilot who was not a bit afraid of the Ring. In one lap, in seven minutes, we experienced more anxiety and tension than most people in their entire lives."

The track opened in 1927, is owned by the BMW Group, has an elevation difference of 300 meters, and features 84 corners! Last year, each race had at least 100+ cars on the grid, divided across multiple classes. The classes are split into three groups and start separately with a rolling start.

We will be racing in the VT2 class, which will be a huge challenge on this 24-kilometer-long circuit. Together with my two teammates, we will give everything to achieve the best possible result. This is a fantastic new step for me, moving from front-wheel to rear-wheel drive cars, and I’m completely ready for it!

The first race comes up quickly. On Thursday, March 20, I head to the Nürburgring to obtain my Nordschleife license, and on Friday afternoon the free practice begins. The schedule is as follows:

Thursday:
Evening: License theory

Friday, 21-03:
Morning: License practical
Afternoon: Free practice

Saturday, 22-03:
08:30 – Qualifying
12:00 – Race
