20-year-old Calvin de Groot clinched the 2024 NXT Gen Cup title after an exciting championship battle that came down to the final lap of the Hockenheim season finale, edging out rival Victor Nielsen by just 10 points in the standings.

“It feels amazing, I’m so happy right now. Today has been incredibly stressful. Victor did an incredible job this weekend. I can’t thank Lukas Stiefelhagen enough; he helped me so much in the last race. This means everything to me. I’ve been racing for 14 years, and this is my first title. After all the hard work, I’m speechless. It’s been an incredible season,” said Calvin de Groot.
“I’m not sure what’s next for me, but first, we’ll celebrate this. One thing I can promise, I won’t stop racing.”
Victor Nielsen closed the gap to Calvin de Groot to just 6 points after winning the first race of the finale weekend. Starting from eighth in the deciding race, the Danish driver mounted a thrilling chase, hunting down his rival on the final lap. However, Calvin de Groot crossed the line first, securing the title.
“I’m not sad, but I’m not happy either. My goal at the start of the season was to finish in the top three, but being just six points behind going into the final race, I really wanted to win. It didn’t happen today, but one day, it will be my turn. Overall, I’m pleased with the season, and I’ll be back in some way next year. Huge congratulations to Calvin—he truly deserves it,” said Victor Nielsen.
Together, Calvin de Groot and Victor Nielsen claimed 12 of the 13 wins this season.

Swede Enzo Hallman finished the season with two podiums, securing third in the championship standings.
“I’m happy, but also a bit disappointed. I really wanted that win. Finishing third in the championship is still a great achievement. It’s been an incredible year with strong competitors, exciting races, and plenty of podiums. The season has been fantastic, especially racing alongside DTM, and everyone involved with the NXT Gen Cup has been amazing,” said Enzo Hallman.
Lukas Stiefelhagen delivered a solid performance in the final race, supporting his compatriot Calvin de Groot throughout. The 17-year-old finished fourth in the overall standings.
Patricija Stalidzane concluded the season as the top female competitor in the series, securing an impressive top-five finish in the championship.
